REMEMBERING
|
Today we remember those who fought and fell in battle to preserve our freedoms. We go back hundreds of years to such historic battles as the Battle of Yorktown in 1781 and honor those heroes, even though none of us knew them personally.
Let's take a moment to think about those people you do know personally who have fought for you and stood up for you. Do you realize that same people who fought for you probably fought against you? How can that be?
At one time or another, most of us have procrastinated, drifted rather than focused, been discouraged, or wanted to quit. Who fought us? Who challenged us to see our own greatness?
Was it a teacher, parent, neighbor, child, co-worker, coach, minister or rabbi, teammate, significant other? Have you thanked him or her?

EXERCISE
|
During the next week, thank someone who has fought you. I invite you to share that positive experience with someone else. Of course, you can also share it with me.
