DISCOVERING YOUR HARVEST

har vest
|ˈhärvist| (noun)  the process or period of gathering in crops, the season's yield or crop.

Proclaimed by President Lincoln in 1863, Thanksgiving is known as the harvest festival.  It is a time to give thanks for the abundant harvest that has been yielded during the year.  In 1863, the United States was in the middle of the Civil War and President Lincoln declared a time to give thanks for all that had been yielded throughout the year.

During that time, it was difficult to see past the division and fighting; yet Americans were still asked to be thankful.  Thanksgiving is upon us.  It is important to remember our year's harvest.  What has your harvest yielded this year?  Within yourself?  Within your family?  Within your career?  Within your fitness plan?

EXERCISE
I invite you this week to find three things to be thankful for this year.   You might want to express them at your thanksgiving table.  For some this might be a new thanksgiving ritual. I would be delighted if you would share some of them with me.

we must never forget that the highest appreciation
is not to utter words, but to live by them. "
