THE MOST POWERFUL MARKETING TOOL
People love to talk!  They love to talk about anything and everything to anyone and everyone! Like it or not, people are talking about your business.  Your customer's voice could be speaking louder than your own.  Think about yourself as a consumer, Regis McKenna, a well known technology marketing guru, says, "we rely on word-of-mouth information when determining what products to buy, what companies to trust, what written reports to read, what corporate leaders to believe."

When a customer shares about their experience with your business, the discussion can be good or bad.  It is vital that you give your customer powerful reasons and examples to speak positively about your business.

What are your customers saying about your business?  Build a following of positive talk about your business.  Jerry Wilson, senior executive at Coca-Cola, advises, "take your product or service and make it extraordinary, even legendary, and you will have mastered the first strategy for managing the talk factor..."  Start making your positive impression now so customers will start talking.

EXERCISE
This week, I invite you to sit down with a customer.  Ask them what type of impression your business is leaving on them.  Ask them how your business can serve them better.  Of course, you can share your feedback with me.

"To build word of mouth, do something extra and unexpected."
Jerry Wilson
