THE VALUE OF A SIMPLE SURVEY
How can you serve your customers/clients better?  A survey can be a powerful tool to discover their needs, and to retain their business while growing your own business.  It is considered appropriate to offer a small reward or discount to the customer/client completing the survey.  I'm sending out a survey this week to customers of a retail business that I coach.  Here was my thought process in formulating the survey.
    • I want the survey to be short and simple.
    • I want to send the survey by email.
Here are the questions on that survey.  You may want to consider these when crafting your own survey.
  • What do you like most about doing business with us?
  • What do you like least about doing business with us?
  • What additional product or service would you like us to provide?
  • Are you currently receiving that specific product or service from someone else?
  • How can we improve ourselves so to earn more of your business?

EXERCISE
This week, I invite you to step back and reflect on what you want to learn from your survey. Of course, you can share your thoughts and any questions with me.  Then make a decision in the next 10 days as to whether you are going to send a survey; if the answer is yes, pick a date to send the survey.
