Greetings!

First things first, the boxes are bursting with red. Not only are the
tomatoes getting an encore, but we've got cherries stealing the show! These are the very first cherries of the Frog Hollow 2010 harvest, picked right on time to make it into the boxes.  Bing Cherries

This harvest season promises a lot of good fruit, and on top of that,
more varied events to be held here at the farm. This Sunday we are
hosting Bloomfield Vineyards' Release Party, a food and wine pairing
with our own Chef Becky Courchesne.  Tickets are available now.  Please call 888-779-4511 for more information.

We're also getting ready for a 2010 Harvest Season Celebration to be held next month. We're aiming for having a good relaxing time with cherry picking and activities for kids on top of a tasty lunch by
JoJo's. More information and ticket sales will soon be posted online at www.froghollow.com/events

The big news this week has been a study linking pesticides to ADHD.
Science journalism in particular is notorious for reporting news with
the shakiest of studies backing them up, so I'm afraid I have nothing yet to say on the topic as I haven't had any time to read up on it in depth. I'll weigh in when I do, either here, or on the website's blog and I'm sure Farmer Al will have a thought or two to share.

It's a good reminder though that even with organic foods, you should
always wash your fruits and vegetables before eating them!

Here's another reminder, especially important as we have new CSA
members joining up: Please check the label on the box at your pick-up site for your name! No one wants to go home with the wrong box, especially if someone has ordered an extra goodie or two for the week.

Enjoy the cherries, everyone!

Cheers,

Kimi Owens
