Preservation at Work: Barinaga Ranch

Award-winning sheep's milk cheese, direct-market lamb and wool products

Marcia Barinaga and her husband, Corey Goodman, are relative newcomers to West Marin ranching. When they purchased their ranch in 2001 they had no intention of becoming sheep ranchers. Fast forward to 2012, and Barinaga Ranch has made a name for itself producing the first farmstead sheep's milk cheese in Marin. In addition to award-winning cheeses, the ranch offers whole lambs, sheepskins, wool blankets, and handmade soaps directly to the public.
