WTTW's Biking the Boulevards Premier

Biking the Boulevards LogoWatch as Chicago's own WTTW personality Geoffrey Baer rides through Chicago's famed boulevard system, which carries riders away from the lakefront's popular attractions and brings them into the lesser-known parks and often-overlooked neighborhoods at the heart of the city's South, West and North Sides. Initially imagined in the 1860s as a way to link Chicago's greenspaces, the boulevard system is undergoing a renaissance amidst the growing interest in environmentally-friendly urban planning and design.

Biking is a transportation choice that promotes health and emits no greenhouse gases. The documentary will explore the history of
bicycling in Chicago, including the recent push to make Chicago the most bike-friendly city in America. See how this strategy of the
Chicago Climate Action Plan has been woven into Chicago's history, and its future.
