The Annual EDC Legislative Breakfast held on August 13th was attended by over 150 business leaders. Spirited, informative and sometimes unsettling, this event provided a valuable opportunity to hear directly from our legislators. Thanks to Congressman Don Manzullo, Congresswoman Melissa Bean, State Senator Pam Althoff, State Senator Dan Duffy and State Representative Mark Beaubien for their participation, candid remarks and personal insight.
As we mentioned at the Legislative Breakfast, a number of our area Chambers and the EDC have collaborated on two separate gubernatorial forums.
The first forum will be September 20th at Woodstock North High School, 3000 Raffel Road, Woodstock, IL. State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady will speak from 7 to 8 PM. Doors open at 6. As soon as we have a confirmed date from Governor Pat Quinn's staff, we will send the details of the second forum.
The EDC Annual Dinner, September 23rd, is fast approaching. Reservation forms are available on our website. Dinner tickets are $75 each and $540 per table of 8. We are pleased to have Orion Samuelson, internationally know business broadcaster, as our keynote speaker.
