CSX has partnered with United Way of Northeast Florida to recruit employee mentors for the Achievers For Life initiative, led by United Way of Northeast Florida. Achievers For Life uses targeted mentoring, parent engagement and school-based resources for students at-risk of dropping out. To address the need for mentors in our community, CSX hosted five leadership events for employees. Each one highlighted an Achievers For Life school. Participants learned about the need for mentors and how mentoring can improve a child's outlook for a lifetime.

Building Blocks to Community Health

The nonprofit sector's campaign theme this year was Building Blocks to Community Health. For their campaign, each agency assembled cardboard block bricks into structures that would visually represent their agency and community impact. Their goal was to show the First Coast how they LIVE UNITED and how their teamwork, leadership, and support ensures greater impact on our most vulnerable citizens.

Share Your Thoughts on Education, Income, Health, and United Way

United Way has helped fund the JCCI Quality of Life Progress Report since its beginning 26 years ago. This report illustrates that while progress has been made on numerous indicators, challenges in many areas remain.

We are asking for your help.

We recently completed a series of conversations in Northeast Florida to hear from community members about their hopes, concerns, and ideas in three key areas: education, income, and health.  We would like to hear from you as well.

Below is a link to a survey that asks your thoughts on opportunities to improve our community in the areas of education, income, and health and the work of your United Way.  The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete.  Please take a few minutes and share your thoughts.  Thank you for your support of United Way.
