From the Editor's Desk...
One of the things I love about homeschooling is having the time to pursue volunteer projects that can help others.
I lead a yoga class at a local women's shelter two evenings a week. It is a wonderful experience and I'm always eager to find volunteer opportunities that we can do as a family. The problem is that it is not always easy to find opportunities that are appropriate for children!
We recently found a website called Volunteer Match - an online database of volunteer opportunities that can be sorted by geographical location. The site search results display which opportunities are appropriate for kids, teens, 55+ and groups. This is a wonderful way to easily scan for opportunities for children. And wouldn't it be great to organize a volunteer opportunity for your homeschool group?
I find volunteering a rewarding experience and it can be an educational
one too! Consider volunteering as a family project!
