Patient Spotlight Brenda Allison-Gastric Bypass--Lost Over 125 lbs On 11-23-09 my life changed forever. My weight problems began as a kid. I was the known as the fat kid on the block. I did slim down when I met my husband in 1973, but I never kept it off and have been yoyo dieting ever since. It seems like my biggest problems started after my mother died and they kept coming. My mom had a heart attack brought on by morbid obesity. She was so large that they had a special coffin made for her. Soon after that my Aunt died, my dad had a heart attack, my niece overdosed. It was all more than I could handle and I ended up at West Hills Hospital for a week.
