Shari Harris-Gastric Bypass--Lost Over 200 lbs

Shari Harris After picture On 11-23-09 my life changed forever.  I was given a beautiful gift of life through gastric bypass surgery at Western Bariatric Institute. I recorded my highest weight ever at just over 360 lbs. All my life I struggled with being overweight to some degree. I was raised in a normal size family where obesity was not a common word. My first diet was when I was 10 years old and this started a pattern of many more diets to follow. By my 44th birthday I was on oxygen for 10 hours a day, high blood pressure pills, 5-7 shots of insulin a day, breathing treatments, inhalers and I could hardly walk. I needed someone to shower me and tie my shoes daily. Just day-to-day living was a chore. I was on a total of 23 medications a day. I was told by my doctors that I would not be alive today if I had not lost the weight. Read More.

Participate in Research Project

You are being asked by Melissa Huelsman, a doctoral student in Counseling and Educational Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno to participate in a research study.  She is conducting a study in order to develop a new model and scale to help overweight and obese individuals that seek mental health counseling.  Overweight and obese individuals all have very different life experiences and this survey seeks to evaluate your own unique experience.

If you qualify to participate and would like to participate, you will be asked to take a survey. See if you qualify.

Check out our WBI Health Store next time you come in for an appointment. We carry medical quality products at reasonable prices and we are getting new products every week. And also don't forget to check out the December promotion for Hall and Wrye plastic surgeons below!
Sincerely,
