The Pinnacle of Backyard Tailgating

Going to the game can be an exciting and fun-filled outing...the roar of the crowd, the sights, the smells, the sounds, the excitement of being in the middle of the action surrounded by friends. Once upon a time, that was the only way to truly experience football. The modern sports fan knows there's a better way.

With a Belgard outdoor kitchen and living room, you can combine the outdoor sporting event experience with the comforts of home. Why hassle with traffic, overpriced nosebleed tickets, and constantly changing tailgating regulations? In your Belgard backyard, you make the rules.

Rule #1: Come early and stay late. Fire up the grill and the outdoor HD surround-sound entertainment system, and your family and friends are ready for pre-game, post-game wrap ups, and everything in between.

Rule #2: Tailgate in style. Gather on the patio, around the brick oven, or in the comfort of your outdoor living room. There's plenty of elbow room, no assigned seating, and the concessions are only limited by your imagination.

Rule #3: Bring your enthusiasm. Fan-up in your team colors and put your game face on. With modern home-entertainment technology, you'll never miss a play or a comment. You can still yell at the refs. They never listened to you anyway.

· Create a gathering area with a fireplace or fire pit.

· Fill your garden with hearty plants that can withstand the cooler evening temperatures, like mums or Mexican bush sage.

· Extend the green life of your lawn by fertilizing and resisting the temptation to lower the mower blade.

· Add decorative accessories and rugs to convert a patio into an outdoor living room.

· Strategically place low-voltage or solar lighting to increase usable evening space.

Belgard Featured in Coastal Living "Ultimate Beach House"

Ultimate Beach HouseOverlooking the Chesapeake Bay in the East Beach community of Norfolk, Va., the 3,500 square foot "Ultimate Beach House" show home built by Coastal Living magazine features 1,500 square feet of outdoor paver patios and walkways provided by Belgard® Hardscapes. In addition to the paver driveway, the outdoor living design also included an outdoor living room, kitchen, dining area, and a number of walkways, all created with Belgard's Mega Lafitt® pavers.

"Mega Lafitt offered us a lot of design flexibility because it's available in either a three or four-piece pattern," said landscape architect Jane Cantin. "The slate-like texture and color added a warm patina that picked up the blue hues of the home's exterior and outdoor furnishings."

The show home will be featured in the October 2011 issue of Coastal Living and will be open for tours through November 27, 2011.
