SEASONAL TIP: Planter Drainage | |

If your planter foliage keeps wilting, the roots may be getting too much water. To ensure proper drainage, start from the bottom up. First, make sure your planters have proper drainage holes near the base. Next, line the bottom with clay shards, coarse rocks, packing "peanuts", or charcoal to prevent water pooling. Finally, use a soil or soil mix designed specifically for container gardening, such as Jolly Gardener® Potting Mix or Moisture Mate Potting Mix.

Adding Visual Interest to Landscape Design with Planters
Planter gardens can be incorporated into any outdoor living area to add height and color, draw visual attention, or help section an outdoor space and create visual "rooms." Building custom planters with Belgard wall block offers a cohesive look that coordinates outdoor design elements with Belgard paver patios, pool decks, and walkways.
In addition, a number of pre-made planters are available in the Belgard Elements Collection to coordinate beautifully with Belgard Elements modular outdoor kitchen units, outdoor fireplaces and fire pits. All Belgard Elements are constructed in a factory setting using Belgard paver and wall products and are shipped on a pallet for easy and quick installation.
For a truly unique design, try creating the look of a vertical garden with custom-built planters of varying heights. |
