With summer upon us, temptation calls for 'New Englanders' to put the top down, cruise to their favorite sunny spots, and focus on getting over those winter blues. But for those in too much of a hurry, those winter blues could be the least of their worries. If you find yourself in trouble with the law for having a heavy foot on the gas pedal, your insurance is bound to be equally as unforgiving. According to a study by the folks at Insurance.com, drivers with one speeding violation on their driving records paid an average of 18% more for their insurance policies than those who didn't. (This study surveyed 32,000 single driver, single car policies.) Those with two violations paid almost 34% more, while those with three tickets paid a whopping 53% more for their auto insurance!
