Skinny Jeans Contestants Work Out Hard
Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp
Greetings!

Spring is finally here, school is almost out, and the 4th of July is just eight weekends away...oh my! Are you where you want to be, emotionally, mentally or physically?

A boot camper recently told me she has her eye on this neat leopard-print bikini with a sexy double strings bottom. She said she is doing boot camp NOW because she wants her abs, thighs and booty to be toned enough to "turn heads" at her annual Fourth of July party.

Now, here is the million dollar question...are you ready for summer yet? You could be; here is how we can help. Of course I will always remind you that Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp sessions are the fastest way to not only LOOK great but feel great too so hurry and check out the current spring and summer schedule online. But we have also included some other super ways for you to push your progress. Check out the "Travel Workout" below, it is quick, easy and you can do it anywhere and anytime, all you need is a resistance band; oh yeah, and no excuses either. Or maybe food is an issue for you; then take a look at the "Interactive Food Label" - all the information you ever needed. It will help you finally understand those darn confusing labels. Maybe you are wanting to help that special someone get ready for summer, super, check out our convenient Boot Camp "Gift Certificates." Anyway you slice it, we hope you find something in this May Sound Off! newsletter that helps get you closer to a sound mind AND body! And remember, we are here to help.
Sincerely,
Coach Catherine
LabelAN INTERACTIVE FOOD LABEL
A Great Tool for Better Choices

Milwaukee Adventure boot CampThe more practice you get reading food labels, the better you can become in using them as a tool to plan your healthy, balanced diet. The Mayo Clinic has published an interactive food label that is fantastic.
COACH JOANNA THINKS LEGS ROCK
Training Them Yields Big Results

Coach Joanna Marker | Milwaukee Adventure boot Camp
Campers are starting to learn that my all time favorite body part to train and be trained is LEGS! Legs not only get you where you need to go, they are the largest body part, resulting in the largest burn and metabolic increase - who wouldn't want that? People tend to not love legs like I do.  Why not, well...for starters it hurts (so good), you feel it for several days (yay!), and the feeling isn't just isolated to the legs (yes - I mean the butt)!

Leg exercises are tough, I won't deny that, but the benefits are more than worth the exertion. Do I really need to sell you? Your legs are a major muscle group, so it's no surprise that training them will get you big time results.
COACH AMY'S TIPS FOR TRAVELING
A Little Planning Goes A Long Way

Coach Amy | Milwaukee Adventure Boot CampWhether you are traveling for work or looking forward to a relaxing getaway, planning is the key to staying fit and energized on the go. The warm weather and sunshine are calling us outdoors, so be sure to create an active itinerary!

Maybe you choose to take this is time to yourself to "unplug" from the workday, de-stress, and wind down.  If you're vacationing, be total tourists and go sight-seeing with the family!  Play Frisbee or volleyball, go for a hike.  Even as little as 20-60 minutes of calorie-burning activity every day can spark your energy and rock your metabolism.
SKINNY JEANS CHALLENGE UPDATE
Boot Campers Can Join the Fun Too

FIVE SIMPLE RULES FOR SUGAR INTAKE
Use It for Good Instead of Evil

Milwaukee Adventure Boot CampFew topics boggle boot camper and fitness enthusiasts the way sugar does. Is this simple carbohydrate the key to unlocking elite sports performance (ie: chocolate milk is great after a workout...)? Or is it the chains that drag our country deeper into the obesity epidemic? Annoyingly, the answer is both. But before you throw your hands up in frustration and grab yourself a Twinkie, let's take a minute to talk about sugar.

It's not as complex as it seems. In fact, with just a few guidelines, it's incredibly easy to use these simple carbohydrates for good instead of evil. Anyone who has been to one of our Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp nutrition seminars will tell you, your nutrition can either make or break your success. Read on to see how you can "indulge" in the sweet stuff without sabotaging your "assets."
PACK THIS IN YOUR SUITCASE
suitcaseA Complete Workout for Anywhere

Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp
This is a complete full body resistance and cardio routine that you seriously can do anywhere. The goal is to gauge your energy and push hard during your cardio bursts.

These are done in "giant set" fashion (all four exercises done is consecutive order with little to no rest until after you complete the first full giant set). Perform each giant set two to three times, then you move onto the next giant set and so on until you have either completed all giant sets, have run out of workout time or are fatigued and excited and energized to get on with the rest of your day. We suggest, 20, 30 or 45 minutes. Good luck and have fun!
EAT CLEAN EGG SALAD RECIPE
Good for You and Your Kids

Milwaukee Boot Camp | Egg SaladEgg Salad is the perfect school lunch! It's hearty, tasty and takes no time at all to prepare. Trade the fatty, mayonnaise-laden version for this Eat-Clean recipe from Tosca Reno's book, The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids!  Make sure to pack it in a cooler.
MABC MAKES A NEW FRIEND
We Welcome lululemon to Town

Recently a new and fabulous athletic apparel store graced the city of Milwaukee with their presence (we say this with reverence because we LOVE their clothing, they are heavenly). Lululemon, yes an odd but catchy name, makes technical athletic apparel for yoga, running, dancing, and most other sweaty pursuits and serves as a super-cool hangout for yogis, fitness people and run groups. They have styles for both men and women.

The ladies of the Milwaukee store have enjoyed a few of our boot camps recently and are fast becoming boot camp evangelists. That is a nice compliment since all our MABC coaches are lululemon evangelists. What is all the hubbub you ask? Sorry, you will just have to go down to the Third Ward location (322 N. Water Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202) and check it out yourself...mostly because words cannot do it justice. Oh yeah and their mission rocks...creating components for people to live a longer, healthier, more fun life.
