Hello Sound Off Readers,
Hope this issue finds you all happy, healthy and ready for Spring! As you know this time of year is filled with Spring Break trips (vacation food), St. Patrick's Day festivities (beer), and Easter yummies (marshmallow peeps and big brunches). What am I getting at you ask? At the same time we are looking forward to sunny warm days of Spring, we find ourselves eating lots more calories than we planned and maybe feeling a little frightened about how we will look AND feel in our shorts and tank tops. NO FEAR, Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp is here. We have lots more
options to help you get and keep a trim, toned body AND can help you
take hold of your eating habits so food becomes friend NOT foe!

Check out this month's articles and my brief video clip of the indoor facility (for those who have not yet had the chance to come by).
Remember, we are here to help!
Sincerely,
Coach Catherine |

Outdoor Boot Camp Is Supercharged by Mother Nature
Outdoor Camps Start In April!
This taste of spring has me itching to take our boot camps outside
again. And we will, come April 19th!
The average person spends 90 percent of their time indoors. We recommend you save your indoor workouts for inclement weather and step
outside whenever you can for the wellness benefits that come
"naturally" when you exercise outdoors.
Changes in Terrain
The inclines, declines, bumps and ruts of natural terrain (as
opposed to flat, man-made surfaces) mean you need to use a greater
variety of muscles; running, walking and hiking on grass fields,
trails, hills and other obstacles give all musculoskeletal parts a
workout. The more muscles used, the more calories expended, and the
spurts of intensity also maximize metabolism. Plus outdoor fitness
activity tends to be more engaging and mentally stimulating due to the
changing surface and scenery.

The Tasty MABC Approved Wrap
Exclusively at Oakcrest Tavern
Lunch or dinner out doesn't have to be a lost cause. Next time take the family to Oakcrest Tavern. While they order chicken tenders and fries, you can order the MABC approved wrap. This whole wheat wrap is stuffed with grilled chicken breast, avocado, carrots, pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach tossed in light balsamic vinaigrette. It is served with a "Coaches Salad" that is a crunchy mixture of baby greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, pine nuts and feta cheese with light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Your choice will taste better and feel better for the rest of the day.

MABC Slogan Contest Winner!
Renee Scherck-Meyer
Congratulations to Renee Scherck-Meyer (8:45 am camper), winner of the first Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp slogan contest. We received LOTS of super cool, very cute, kind of quirky and down right silly slogans and we thank you all for your creativity. But Renee's suggestion of, "Boot Campers Do It In the Sand" was slightly altered to, "We Do It In the Sand" and will be featured on the the back of the next official boot camp t-shirts being printed this week! We think we have the best clients in Wisconsin and to show you, we have opened up this slogan contest each quarter. So, even if your slogan was not chosen this time around; PLEASE continue to submit your suggestions. Next contest will be held in June/July so keep your eyes and ears open for more details.
