Milwaukee Boot Camp News
In The Press...
NPR Radio (WUWM) stopped by the 8:45 am boot camp on Friday 11/20 and recorded our workout as well as interviewed a few campers. How cool is that? The feature is about how local Milwaukeans are keeping their fitness programs fresh as the weather gets colder and people move indoors. Check it out - we were scheduled to air on Wednesday morning 11/25 BUT that changed and we are rescheduled to air THIS week. Keep your eyes AND ears open for this super program and we will forward the information to you when we get it!  Also check out this recent Business Journal article.

2009 Camper Appreciation & Holiday Party
Did you think we forgot? We have the BEST campers/clients in the state and we want you to know it! We have tentatively planned the Holiday Appreciation party for Friday, January 29th. Please join us and feel free to bring a guest with you. The celebration will be held at our decked out, new Indoor Boot Camp Facility. The night will be a relaxing and fun evening of reuniting with fellow campers and celebrating a BETTER YOU in 2010! Any camper who participated in a 2009 Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp is invited; and be sure to pick-up your "Thank You" Gift at the party...full of goodies from local business partners. We will have lots of great food, fun and prizes. Keep your eyes open for more information and for your official invitation!

Platinum Package Memberships WIIFM?
Ever here that term before? It stands for, "What's In It For Me?" Glad you asked! This program was specifically created for the women and men who are loyal Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp participants OR who want to become one and who also know that they want boot camp to be their main fitness regimen. What a GREAT holiday gift giving idea too! These are also the people who want to enjoy living in a fit, lean, healthy and strong body year round. The Platinum Package membership is for ladies and men who want the best of the best and want to live longer, stronger, more energetic years looking and feeling fantastic. These campers are also savvy shoppers who know an incredible deal when they see it. You receive all 10, 2010 boot camps for the price of 8. And if that is not enough of a reason to jump on the Platinum bandwagon; check out these other super benefits reserved only for Platinum Members.

MABC Indoor Facility Update
Tori Amos once said..."In life, sometimes everything falls into place and sometimes everything falls to pieces. The key is to begin creating with these fallen pieces. By improvising, you'll create something magical that might be the best thing you've ever accomplished!" As many of you may have heard, we are WAY behind our scheduled October 5th open date. Yeah, we are upset too. We have experienced a few situations where things have "fallen to pieces"...like our contractor being put in jail. BUT, as Tori suggested so eloquently, we have improvised and have started creating something fantastic. We have laced up our boot camp boots, found a super replacement contractor and are planning to hold our indoor camps on Monday 12/7.  Now, we are not completely finished yet, but toilets and showers will be usable and the look of the facility is 98% complete! We continue to be extremely excited about offering fun and effective MABC workouts to our community and to continue supporting our campers health, fitness and nutrition goals! Keep your eyes and ears open for our GRAND opening in January 2010! Plan to come experience all the bells and whistles that the indoor boot camp facility promises!

Order of Boot Camp Business
As with many things; change has occurred, which is NOT always a bad thing. We have our business bank account at TCF National and we have been pleased to offer our campers the convenience of both credit card online registration payment or payment by cash or check. TCF recently made a security change to their deposit requirements to help avoid fraud and to keep our account safe. BUT this DOES affect us. Starting December 2009; PLEASE remember that if you are paying for camp by check; the check must be made out to our corporation, A-List Fitness, Inc. In the past, we have been allowed to write our business name in BUT the bank will no longer accept checks written out to MABC or Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp. Please take a few moments and review our policy. Thanks for helping us stay compliant and for your help in advance campers!

Happy Holidays !

As we head out of November and look past the first of our wonderful holiday celebrations; remember to continue to make your best fitness and nutrition choices.

Milwaukee Boot CampAs coaches, our goal is to encourage you to be real, NOT perfect. Perfection is no fun and not possible; so why beat yourself up or feel guilty for not working out one day or eating too much pie, cake, cookies... We can't live in the past and we can't live in the future but we can make the most of the present.  If we spend our energy in what "should have been" or what "will be" we lose the beauty of "what is."  I encourage you to have that mindset as we head into an even more difficult month for eating clean and making time for workouts.

Just make the the best choices possible for YOU that you can.  Make the decision to keep moving forward in your efforts to find a healthy balance in your life; fitness-wise, career-wise, and nutrition-wise. And remember, we are here to help!

Sincerely,

Coach Catherine and Your Boot Camp Staff
Stay Fit This Holiday Season

The holidays shouldn't leave you looking like a bowlful of jelly. As fun as the holiday season is, it can be rough on your fitness program. Bad weather, stress, and lack of time can sap your motivation, while parties, visitors, and vacations can distract you from your workouts. It's no wonder so many people gain weight in November and December, only to regret it on January 2nd.
But it doesn't have to be that way. You can keep up or even improve your fitness level, stave off weight gain, and enjoy the Milwaukee Boot Campholidays as much as ever. Just stick with the following guidelines...
Milwaukee Boot Camp Booty Call!
Big Boot Recruit
No-longer used boots cluttering up your closet, basement, garage?  We want them!  During the month of January, we'll be running "The Big Boot Recruit" - a charity drive to collect gently used boots to help local families keep dry and warm this winter.

We ask you, our current and past campers, to bring your no-longer-used boots to class.  If you can gather extra pairs from friends, neighbors and family, that would be great.  If you aren't currently taking a camp, check the Web site for locations and times when you can drop off.  We welcome boots of all types - work boots, hiking boots, women's, men's and kids' boots - boots of all shapes and sizes.  The drive will also be open to the public, and all boots will be donated to the Salvation Army.  We hope you'll join us!

Thanks Beth Tsuchiyama!
Beth is a runner and said it would be awesome for the boot camp coaches to suggest "off boot camp" day running workout ideas. We agree; so starting in January 2010, look for some great running workouts to keep your running skills honed during boot camp months. This way, your legs will be fresh for running AND tough boot camp training.

Gracias Michael Andersen!
Looking for a super, local cover band? Check out Element 13 (www.e13rocks.com). They play at many bars downtown as well as at Ovations restaurant at the Ipic theater in Glendale.  And yes, they play all genres so all ages will enjoy their music!

Merci beaucoup Lynda Barth!
Lynda recommends Shirataki noodles as a replacement for pasta. These noodles are made of tofu (found in the tofu section at Sendiks) and taste great with most sauces.
