  • 1 in 8 babies is born prematurely.
  • Mortality rates for infants born even a few weeks early, or "late preterm" (between 34-46 weeks of gestation), were three times the rate than full-term infants.
  • More than a half a million babies are born prematurely (less than 37 weeks gestation) each year, and those who survive face the risk of lifelong health consequences, such as breathing and feeding issues, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities.

If you are interested in taking part in the "Prematurity Awareness Campaign", please contact Kim Splant @ 708.212.1411.

raised over $3,500!
Although the rain eventually came, it did not deter over 87 riders to help support the "Riding for Babies" fundraiser on Sunday, September 20th.
The Foundation and James
James and his family were selected by the Foundation for this event and a portion of the proceeds will purchase a special needs bicycle and additional expenses.  They are a very special family and we hope you had an opportunity to meet them.
On September 29th, James will be having hip surgery at Riley's Children's Hospital - we hope for a quick recovery!
