June 27, 2008
Dear Members and Friends, Happy Summer! We hope you are all enjoying the lush green from the generous spring rains this year. Please stop and savor this very special season for native plants. |
GROUNDBREAKING AT NASAMI FARM
On June 19, neighbors, builders, media, staff, supporters, and friends gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Native Plant Center at Nasami Farm & Sanctuary in Whately, Massachusetts. Thanks to all for being part of the celebration and the "Growing Connections" campaign, which includes funding for the project. We invite you all to join in by clicking here. |
| LAND TRUST PLANT SURVEYS
More than 200 species were found on the first day of work on a botanical inventory project for three land trusts, funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition. This work is especially important since many land trusts have no information on the plants on their properties. The initial survey included a rare plant, the Lance-leaved grape fern (Botrychium lanceolatum). This represents lots of hard work by volunteers. Kudos to all! To learn more, click here.
