Greetings!
Have you seen the movie Courageous yet? Sam, Sam III and I went today... wow! I stand in awe, once again, of God's timing. Over 60% of homes across America do not have a father present. In homes without fathers incidents of drug abuse, premarital sex, abortion, and suicide of teenagers is reaching incredible numbers. Christian homes are not immune to these statistics. I believe God is causing an awakening across this country among His children, especially His sons... through the media of movies like Courageous and 7 Days in Utopia. If we are courageous enough to step out in obedience to His call, families will be healed, communities empowered and lives saved. The dictionary defines courageous as the ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action. How are you at living a courageous life? As followers of Jesus Christ, we have God's promise that He is always with us. "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them (the enemy); for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 Defining courage and living it out are two different things... with Christ, living a courageous life today is possible. Ask Him this week to give you the courage to stand firm in your faith and convictions. Ask Him to open your eyes to His opportunities and to give you the strength to follow Him faith-fully. Ask Him to increase your faith in areas you feel are lacking. Ask Him... then step out in faith, knowing He goes with you... week by week, day by day, moment by moment. Thank you Heavenly Father for always being there for us. Thank you for being at every game, every graduation, every birthday... Thank you for calling us to live according to Your high-road standard in life. Thank you for expecting us to live with integrity, to walk out our faith seeking excellence and not settling for doing things just okay. Help us to teach our children well Your words of Truth. Help us to be obedient to You in all things. give us the courage to declare with pride, "As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord." We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen Hugs... Linda |
