Hello my friend,
Blessings to you this fine Labor Day! Labor Day, is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Take a moment and look around the room you are currently in... what item do you own or use that is directly connected to the social or economic achievements of American workers? I realize this may seem like a trick question, considering many items in your home were most likely made in China, but that aside... there is something you depend on daily that is the direct result of American workers, what? Did you think, electricity, water, lumber or materials that make up your home? What about the music you hear piped through your radio? Who sings it, produces it and markets it? What about the food in your pantry? Who picked it, cleaned it up, placed it on a shelf in your local grocery store? We could go on and on right? Or better yet, we could make it a point to say, "Thank you for all you do." the next time we go grocery shopping or maybe write it on the bill stub we mail back in to our local CPS for payment. What kind of a reaction do you think you'll get? A look of surprise for sure, then maybe if you are blessed enough to witness it... a smile of gratitude. Are you willing to take this on as a Labor of Love challenge this week? See how many times you can thank someone for simply... showing up at work, they don't have to be the ones waiting on you or providing you a personal service. A simple "You're doing a great job... thanks!" could produce a week long positive attitude. let me know how it works out. .................................................... Heavenly Father, be with us this day. Give us opportunities to share Your love with others as You have shared Your grace with us. Allow the abundance of Your love to overflow upon all those You bring into our paths this week. I pray that my friend will feel your protection, guidance, and presence as never before. May Your peace that passes all understanding be released over every circumstance that keeps us from seeing You at work in our lives. Open our eyes that we might see You today, in Jesus name, Amen. Hugs in Him... Linda |
