Greetings!

I've often prided myself at being in tune with the needs of those around me. That is until I started simplifying the needs of my home and ministry. My focus on getting simplified has been shouting down the whispered needs of those around me, even my family. Has this ever happened to you? You begin bailing the boat at one end while the other end slowly submerges... not a pretty sight.

Pride always comes back to kick you doesn't it? What do you do when it happens?

I must be intentional in my listening to hear the whispers of my family and friends. I've found it is imperative if I desire to meet their needs as only a wife, mother, grandmother and friend can. Alas... theirs is not the only whisper that can be lost midst the choices of life, even good choices.

If I'm not careful, I can miss out on the God "whispers" spoken into me daily. Bill Hybels writes, "God still speaks relevant words to His followers, and most likely a grand adventure with your name on it is on your heavenly Father's lips." The question to be asked is, "If you hear His whispers, and an adventure is waiting, will you have the guts to respond?"

"Responding" to any given situation requires focus. Contrasted to "reacting" which let's face it, means acting on impulse then wondering if what we did was the best we could have done. This day, I choose to respond... tempered by the whisper of my Abba, how about you?

Over the next few months I will be broadcasting Live Powerfully Now at a new time - 8am Texas time, every Monday morning. I invite you to begin your week with me as we go through a time of seeking, listening, and responding to God's word.
