Greetings!
"When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. 'Do you understand what I have done for you?' he asked them. 'You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." John 13:12-17NIV I'm sure you've read these verses many times; how do you feel when you hear our Lord's challenge "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."? What does "washing their feet" look like in our world? In one word, it's humility... thinking more of others than we think of ourselves. Doing more for others than we want done for ourselves. Reaching beyond the comfort zone of "I should" to "I will" all because Jesus did it for us, for you and for me. Would you take a few moments each morning this week and ask the Lord what you are to do in obedience to His challenge? I'd love to hear from you by Friday or Saturday to see how God has worked in your life. I expect a powerful blessing to occur because He has promised it to be so. Please don't strive to "do" something... just ask the Holy Spirit to guide your heart as He wants you to go, then go and do. I pray your summer has begun with opportunities to share the good news of Jesus where ever you go... use your faith-voice, you'd be surprised how many people will respond in kind when you do. Talk to you next week... or this week if you listen in to our shows! Hugs in Him... Linda |
