Touring Fees For Artists

In this workshop participants will develop a viable touring budget based on the present fee structure of touring venues in the US and beyond. We will look closely at staffing, venue and technical specifications and consider how these affect your budget.
Identifying Rescources & Funding Strategies
with Royd Climenhaga
Tuesdays, March 6 & 13

This course is geared specifically toward artists working with new and alternative forms of theater and dance. We will focus on how to identify foundations/funders that are a good match (and how to not waste your time on things that aren't worth it), as well as locating alternative revenue streams. Participants will learn how to strategize and build a working timeline for applying to funders and gathering support.
Writing Project Descriptions & Artist Statements
with Beth Morrison
Tuesday & Thursday, April 10 & 12, 6:30-9pm

Project descriptions and artist statements are the backbone of artists' materials.  Whether you're applying for a grant, residency or performance, or putting together your press kit, solid writing that describes your work and expresses your creative voice is key. This workshop provides examples from other artists, and gives participants a forum to develop their writing and receive feedback.
"Butts in Seats" - Marketing 2.0
with Brian McCormick
Monday, April 23

This workshop focuses on how to build a cohesive marketing strategy (both short- and long-term) by breaking down key concepts. Topics include: brand identity, messaging, and communication. The course will also cover best practices for using Social Media, realistic advertising options, promotions and community partnerships.

Fieldwork is a unique forum for artists to share developing works and exchange feedback, peer to peer. The feedback structure reveals how each piece is perceived by others and fosters a detailed information exchange. Incisive and stimulating critiques are guided by an experienced facilitator.  Guest artist, Brian Brooks, will participate in three sessions, offering the group a fresh pair of eyes as well as sharing his work.  The final session will be an open showing.

Open to artists working in dance, music, performance art, and theater.
