Run for the Arts!
Join us for the Michigan Youth Arts in Motion 5k, October 11, in Royal Oak! Family-friendly and suitable for both runners and walkers, our inaugural 5k event will raise money to support arts education in Michigan's schools. More than just a race, the day will be a celebration of the arts - featuring live performances, on-site installations and more!

Start your personal donation page today!
Help raise money for Michigan Youth Arts by becoming a fundraiser!  Whether you want to collect sponsorships to support your walk or run for the arts, or help support our cause without participating in the 5k, you can set a personal goal, upload a photo, and raise money online!  Our goal is to raise $10,000 by October 11!  We can do it with your help!

Volunteer!
Have time to give instead of money?  Become a volunteer at the 5k.  We need people to help with registration, water stations, course marshalling, and more.  This is a great job for scout troops or school groups looking for a service opportunity!  Contact Stacey to sign up today.

Do Art!
We're looking for artists across disciplines to participate in our October event.  Bands, dance troupes, choirs, theatre groups, poets and other performers can do their thing among the walkers, along the course, or in the park.  Visual artists can install outdoor sculptures, create signage, or construct finisher awards.  Check out the artist guidelines and submit a proposal today!
2010 Festival Guidelines Online
Guidelines for the adjudication process for all disciplines are now available for download.  Submission deadlines vary for these first steps on the road to the Festival - some are very soon - so be sure to read them carefully to find out where and when to apply!

Policy Forum logo2009 Policy Forum
Michigan Youth Arts was pleased to bring forth the 2009 Arts Education
Policy Forum in August.  The convening was an overwhelming success with representatives from several statewide arts education associations and government agencies in attendance.  This convening was at a critical point for all of us involved in the education of future generations.  The strength of our combined efforts is key to giving us a louder voice throughout Michigan and beginning a dialog that will shape arts education policy for years to come.

For almost fifty years, Michigan Youth Arts has brought together some of our state's finest student talent through the Michigan Youth Arts Festival.  Now, as we move towards the next fifty years, we are bringing together the state's arts education associations to ensure the future of quality arts education for all of Michigan's students.

The published report is being presented throughout all statewide arts education associations for endorsement this month.  We look forward to wide endorsements from the arts and cultural community at large as we launch this years 2010 Arts Education Policy Agenda.
