Welcome to Bethel Baptist Church

Greetings!

I saw a young man the other day who had multiple tattoos and body piercing all over his head, face, arms and legs that I could see. I am never sure when I see someone like that if they want me to look at them or not. Sometimes it is hard to decide because you don't want to offend them or at least I don't want to offend them by staring at them. As the young man passed I spoke to him and his family, which he totally ignored me. I noticed he was on his cell phone and really did not care that I had spoke to them. I did feel like I was disrespected but still uncertain as to what he was trying to say. Then I thought what is the difference in what he was doing and what so many of us do when we show up at church wearing certain clothes or hairstyles or glasses or shoes. I could go on and on. Are we trying to get one another's attention or are we trying to fit in with a certain group or do we just want some attention? I am not sure what the answer is, but I do know we live with a lot of different people who look really different, have a lot of really different ideas about a lot of really different things, There is only one thing that separates us all or causes us all to be just alike and His name is Jesus. Isn't it really neat we don't know exactly what we are going to be like when we see Him, only we are going to be like He is. We ought to be more concerned about how He sees us rather than be concerned about everybody else. Be different but let your difference be Jesus.

God Bless,
Bro. Chris

Children
Sundays @ Bethel are Hot Hot Hot!
Sizzlin' Summer Program for Kidz in 1 - 6 grade.
June 7 - August 9, each Sunday morning 8:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.  You can register on-line or by filling out a form beginning May 3.  We will have a morning of high energy, awesome Bible stories, drama, music, games, snack, and tons of fun.  The kidz will be on teams with children of all ages.  They will stay in the gym the entire time.  They will not be in "Big Church" with their parents during the summer schedule.  Angela will need extra help other than the Sunday School teachers, if you dare, come join the fun!  We will have a beach theme called "Into the Depths", studying the book of James.

This year our church will not host a traditional VBS.  We will have the Sizzlin' Summer Program.  Our goal is to invite the community and reach out to those unchurched as well as our regular attendees.  Please invite your friends and families to this H.O.T. (Holy Obedient Training) event for kidz.  Their parents are most welcome to Sunday School and Worship while their kidz are having an awesome time in the gym.

Wild-N-Wacky Wednesdays begin Wednesday June 3.  We will have Wild-N-Wacky games, songs, and Bible Stores that will blow your mind. For kidz 1 - 6 grade each Wednesday @ 6:30.

We need parents to help in our Kidz on The Rock Worship class on Wednesday nights.  This will be a rotating schedule.  Please, come talk to Angela and let her share with you ways you can be of service to the Children's Ministry @ Bethel.
