Greetings!
|
The weather is cooler and the trees are starting to change colors, which can only mean one thing. CHRISTMAS is almost here! Don't panic you still have 3 months to do your Christmas shopping.
Since I have your attention, I would like to take this time to remind you that we have started collections for the Christmas Store Ministry. This is the schedule for collections: September through November you can give your monetary gift (Use the gray Special Event Envelope and label it Christmas Store). September 7 through October 5 you can donate any kind of hygiene item. October 12 - 26 will be the dates to donate wrapping paper and tape (please no bows) and November 2 - December 7 will be the dates to donate new toys. There will be a list of suggested toys that has been made by our own children in the church. All donations can be dropped off at the Welcome Area.
This year we would like to help 80 to 100 families in this ministry. Each family will receive a box of food along with the items mentioned above. This box will cost between $75 and $80 per box. The total for 100 families will be $8000. I have no doubt that this can be raised. Also, as in the past any leftover items will be donated to the Shepherd's Supply Ministry.
I would like to end by asking each of you to see if you can find a team in this ministry to join. Please give the team leader a call and let them know you will be available to help.
In His Service, Greg Price Director of Christmas Store
