Parents Nominate 15 Teachers in 2011 PA Teacher of Year Program:  Our parents really went the extra mile to recognize Pine-Richland teachers.  They nominated 15 teachers in the 2011 PA Teacher of the Year Awards program. In all, 18 letters were submitted.  Click here to see who was nominated.
 
Vote for ESPN 2009-10 Scholastic Athlete of the Week!  Click here to vote for PRHS tennis player Olivia Heim as ESPN Scholastic Athlete of the Week.  You have until 10 a.m. on Monday.

District Outreach Events
Holiday Hope Drive Benefiting the Lighthouse:   Drive being held November 23-December 8 to benefit the Lighthouse and sponsored by the PRHS Community Outreach Committee of Student Government.   Items being collected are: household cleaning supplies, health & hygiene products, and paper products.  Donation containers are located in the high school foyer and Student Activities Room.
 
2nd Annual P-R Varsity Ice Hockey Team Outdoor Game!  The Varsity Hockey team will play North Allegheny in its second annual outdoor hockey game on Monday, January 25, at 7 p.m. at North Park Ice Skating Rink.  Proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer Research.  Last year, we had a terrific crowd, a very exciting game, and raised several thousand dollars.  We hope to surpass that this season.
District Fundraisers
Get Your Christmas Tree & Support the Class of 2011!  The PRHS Class of 2011 will be selling Christmas trees on Saturday, December 5 and December 12, from 12-4 p.m. in the stadium parking lot.  ALL proceeds will benefit the Junior/Senior Prom.  Click here for details!  Questions?  Joe Domagala or Laura Blaze.
 
Support Pine-Richland Boy's Basketball by Dining at Atrias!  Boosters are sponsoring a fundraiser at Atria's in both the Wexford and Richland locations on Monday, December 7.  Click here for the certificate to present at each location, and 20% of your purchase total will go to Boy's Basketball.  The certificate is good for lunch and dinner, eat in or take out.

The Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Orchestra:  The PYCO is performing in a free concert on Sunday, December 6, 2009.  Details...  
Sports Leagues, Teams, and Activities
Girls Grades K-8, Dance Team Workshop & Performance:  Instructional Clinic being held on Tuesday, January 12, from 5-7:30 p.m. followed by a performance at the PRHS Basketball Game on Friday, January 15.  Click here for details and the registration form, which is due January 5.
 
PR Field Youth Hockey Indoor Program for Grades 4-6:  The PRYC is hosting an eight week winter indoor field hockey program for players in grades 4-6.   Click here for details and here for a registration form.  Deadline is December 31.
 
PR Youth Baseball and Softball - 2010 Spring Season Registration!  Registration for all leagues will be held on Saturday, January 16, at the Pine Community Center from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and Saturday, January 30, at Eden Hall from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Click here for additional league and registration information.

2010 Census -- 10 Questions,10 Minutes to Define Who We Are as a Nation:  The U.S. Constitution requires a national census every 10 years.  The data is used to determine the number of seats each state will have in the House of Representatives as well as to help determine states'  Federal Funding.   Your questionnaire will be delivered by March 2010.  For more information, click here.

Family Fun Night:  Being held at the Pine Community Center Friday, December 4.  An active night of fun and games for the whole family!
 
Cookies and Caroling:  Come to the Pine Community Center on Saturday, December 5, 2-4 p.m. for a fun afternoon of caroling, crafts, and cookies!  Bring your camera to get pictures with our jolly special guest!!
 
Holiday Drop-off:  Wrap up your holiday shopping and leave the kids at the Pine Community Center! They will enjoy games, crafts, and other fun activities.  Open to kids age 4-8 on Saturday, December 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  $3/hour members, $4/hour non-members.
 
Discovery Kids Make-and-Take Ornaments:  Children, ages 4-6, will create five ornaments in this class on Tuesday, December 8, from 10-11 a.m. at the Pine Community Center.
Summer Camps/Programs
Chatham University 's Camp E.D.E.N. Program is Registering for Summer 2010!  Chatham University offers summer camp at the Eden Hall Campus for children ages 5-12.  Day camp information can be found at the Chatham website or by contacting the day camp office at 412-365-1174 or daycamp@chatham.edu.
