War Eagle everyone! BIG News to share with you today -- Atlanta is once again the first stop of Coach Chizik's Tiger Trek tour and this year it will take place on Tuesday, April 24! Make plans to join us for Metro Atlanta's BIGGEST night of Auburn! We are looking for volunteers, Auburn merchandise vendors, and silent auction donations for this event. More details below. Auburn's A-Day game is set for Saturday, April 14, at 2 PM CT. Tickets are $5, and can be purchased online or at the gate the day of the game. All nominees must be life members of the association, and be willing to serve on a volunteer basis. These board positions require travel to Auburn at least three times per year. Successful nominees will be installed this fall; each will serve a four-year term. The deadline for receiving nominations and supporting documentation for Auburn Alumni Association Board of Directors positions is 5:00 p.m. CST.  It's the Atlanta Auburn Club's BIGGEST Scholarship Fundraising Event of the year! Join us on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, for the first stop of Coach Chizik's Tiger Trek tour. We'll be at the Cobb Galleria Centre (Hall D) with a big Fan Fest-style celebration that includes Auburn's Southeastern Raptor Center, the Auburn Alumni Association,our annual Silent Auction (which benefits the club's 501(c)(3) scholarship fund), Auburn merchandise vendors... and much, much more. As we did last year, the Live Oak trees that have become a tradition at our event will be part of our silent auction. Last year's trees -- which were about 6 years old and about 10'-12' in height -- found new homes in Auburn Tiger yards around Atlanta, as well as at Auburn-founded Eagle Ranch! While we continue to remain hopeful that our beloved trees at Toomer's Corner will survive, we believe that Auburn's deeply rooted Toomer's Tradition & Spirit should be spread far & wide! WDE!

Networking Events this year.... And looking for Auburn Grad Recruiters to Join Us, too
 Our LinkedIn group is now nearing 600 members! We continue to be amazed because this effort was rooted in the economic mess that still has a hold on Atlanta and the country as a whole. Auburn Tigers were being downsized or were graduating and couldn't find jobs... and they all wanted a way to network with the AU Family here in metro Atlanta. Now that there are hundreds of Tigers gathered with us on LinkedIn --- what next?
We want to foster an Auburn spirit where we can help each other. Unemployment in the metro area is still very high. And we are interested in helping our Auburn Family make more helpful contacts - when they relocate to Atlanta, or are seeking a new job. We are also looking at how we can make this group more dynamic, with speakers/networking events in 2012.
