NCAA Auburn Regional Opens at Plainsman Park
Auburn's revival continues today in NCAA regional playAUBURN
-- Brian Fletcher has only the faintest memories of his dad's old job,
but he's heard stories about the time he spent in the Chicago White Sox
clubhouse crawling around in the locker of star first baseman Frank
Thomas. Few knew that the toddler was presaging his baseball future. Auburn regulars like Hunter Morris, Kevin Patterson, Trent Mummey
and Fletcher -- son of 15-year major-league veteran Scott Fletcher --
will likely be drafted next week and playing pro baseball by late
summer. But this weekend their focus is on completing the revival of
Auburn baseball that started with their recruiting class three years
ago. The Auburn Regional opens today at Plainsman Park. Second-seeded
Clemson (38-21) and third-seeded Southern Mississippi (35-22) play
first at 2 p.m. The top-seeded Tigers (40-19) play fourth-seeded
Jacksonville State (32-24) at 6 p.m. Auburn said only a handful of tickets remained Thursday night, and
they will go on sale this morning. The games will not be televised. Read the rest of this article by clicking here: http://blog.al.com/press-register-sports/2010/06/auburns_revival_continues_toda.html

From the AAC Mail Bag: Operation War Eagle Opportunity
The Atlanta Auburn Club is in contact with some U.S. troops in the 1st Armored Division at FOB Warrior in Kirkuk, northern Iraq. They have a list of needs that we are trying to see if we can fulfill as part of our continuing Operation War Eagle effort.
1. Coloring books, crayons, pencils, notebooks for Iraqi children.
2. Candy for children (hard candies usually best as chocolate can melt).
3. For the soldiers: an Xbox 360 system. They had one one that is now broken; soldiers had used it to relieve stress.
4. The troops are trying to help establish a youth soccer league in the small town of Dibbis, about 30 mins north of Kirkuk. The officer in that area is asking for equipment for 80 kids (8 teams of 10) ages 8-12. Items include jerseys for each team, shorts, cleats, and shin guards.

If anyone in the Auburn Family would like to help us with this project, please contact club president Kathleen Saal at: communications@atantaauburnclub.org
We are particularly interested in finding out if anyone has contacts that could help us with #3 and #4 on the list. With the FIFA World Cup starting next Friday, June 11, we'd love to be able share our passion for "Football" with these children. War Eagle!!

Get Involved There
are nearly 100 local Auburn Clubs throughout the country, and through
these groups alums have the opportunity to participate in various
fund-raising activities either directly for their local club
scholarship or towards the Association's Endowed Scholarship. In
2005-2006, more than $178,000 was raised by local clubs for students in
their areas to attend Auburn.
Circle of Excellence Donors Your Auburn Alumni Association offers an exciting opportunity for life members to give back to Auburn University. The
Circle of Excellence was created to increase the endowment for
Auburn Alumni Association Endowed Scholarships, the only scholarship
program at Auburn University designed to specifically support the
children of life members. Download a brochure or click here for more details. How else can I give? Just
make your tax-deductible contribution to the 'Auburn University
Foundation', designating the Atlanta Auburn Club Endowment Fund in the "Notes" line of your check. Or if you
prefer, give online and specify the Atlanta Auburn Club Endowment or the AAC's Roy B. Sewell Annual club scholarship in the

Atlanta Auburn Club Joins UNITY Membership Program
The Atlanta Auburn Club has joined the Auburn Alumni Association's new UNITY membership program. And we jumped in early!
What does this mean for you? If you are already a Life or Annual Member of the Auburn Alumni Association, your local membership in the Atlanta club is now also included. It also means that when joining or renewing, you will be asked to designate your local club. It also means less overall confusion over whether you have paid dues as a member of the national alumni association - or to your local club.
What does this mean for our club? Local dues supported our club's operating costs for websites and email hosting, and it also helped us have the cash on hand for deposits for our big events. As a club, we will now have to find another way to raise that money.
How can you help us? Most importantly, please choose the Atlanta club - code: MUATL - when joining/renewing membership in the Auburn Alumni Association. You can do it online by clicking here Membership in the association is not only tax-deductible, a portion of *new* Annual/Life memberships and Annual Renewals supports the Atlanta Auburn Club's scholarship fund. But you must list our code MUATL -
You can also support the Atlanta Auburn Club by attending our events and scholarship fundraisers, and making a tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)(3) scholarship fund, which supports both annual and endowed scholarship efforts for students from the metro area.
In the past year, we have gotten more queries about AAC scholarships than at any other time. But like most charities, we have also been hit hard by this economy. We need your support like never before - and we hope to see one of our biggest crowds ever for the Tiger Trek event with Coach Chizik.
If anyone has questions about UNITY membership or anything else, please contact the club.
Your Atlanta Auburn Club is one of the most dynamic and active local clubs in the country. Our mix of events is like no other and we take great pride in that. We are also, an all-volunteer organization. So, please join us --- and get involved!
