War Eagle from the Atlanta Auburn Club!

Greetings!

War Eagle everyone! Hope to see many of you in Auburn this weekend for Homecoming.

For those who be staying in Atlanta, Saturday's game against Furman will not be on any of the broadcast networks. We have heard that at least some, if not all, of our viewing locations will have it. But we do suggest you call the viewing location ahead of time to make sure (telephone #s listed below)

The Auburn game against Furman kicks off at 12:30 p.m. CT (1:30p ET).

For anyone who is interested, a full listing of Homecoming activities is at the bottom of this email.

Seats Still Available! Reserve Now for AAC Bus Trip to Athens!
Round-trip bus fair to the AU-UGA game is only $30/per person

We have gotten A LOT of reservations since last Friday. If you are still sitting on the fence - don't wait to long! This bus trip will sell out! Don't miss out on the Atlanta Auburn Club's favorite road trip -- when we head to Athens for that all-important date "Between the Hedges."
  image

Tickets are only $30 per person - as usual this does NOT include your ticket for the game - you are on your own for that! There is a group of Tigers planning to join us who don't have tickets yet; if they don't get them by kickoff, they plan on heading to a bar in Athens in one big group.

Our buses will leave the Park & Ride lot at I-85 and Indian Trail (just north of Jimmy Carter Blvd) at 2pm ET. Check-in for the buses begins at 1:30pm ET. Kick-off for the game is set for 7pm ET.

Why drive and worry about parking in Athens when you can get the tailgate party started sooner with us! We will be parking in Athens at the Classic Center - an easy walk to the stadium for the big game! You are welcome to bring chairs, tents, food, coolers, etc. to set up once we arrive in Athens.

For more information, or to reserve your seat, email us at communications@atlantaauburnclub.org, and then send your check, payable to the Atlanta Auburn Club, Inc., to AAC Athens Trip, c/o Ginger Florey, 1119 Cimarron Ct., Clarkston, GA 30021.

***
The buses will also make a stop at the Holiday Inn if anyone wants to get off to attend the Athens Auburn Club's pre-game Tailgate BBQ, which will start 4 hours before kickoff. The Holiday Inn is located at the corner of Broad and Lumpkin in downtown Athens.  Cost: $30 Adults, $15 Children; Cash bar. For more information, click here to go to their website.

Beat Bama! Support Auburn's Annual Food Drive
image

Each year the Auburn and Alabama Student Government Associations join together in a little competition for a cause:  the Beat Bama Food Drive.

And as Alumni, we can help!

Until Tuesday, November 20th, one week before the Iron Bowl, you can make an online donation to support the East Alabama Food Bank, and help Aubie beat Big Al.

You can donate a pound of food, 50 pounds, 100 pounds... or even more!

Alabama beat Auburn in 2007 and 2008, after Auburn dominated the competition for years.  So let's turn the Tide and score some points for the Tigers!

Click here for more information on how to get involved in the Beat Bama Food Drive or to donate on-line.

Join the AAC on Friday, Nov. 20 for Wine & "War Eagle!"

imageIt's a BYOB (bring your own bottle) event at Just For Giggles -- and this time, you get to choose your Auburn-themed paint project! (the Aubie or new Samford Hall canvas, wine glasses, a cool Auburn plate, etc).

We won't have a game on Saturday (off weekend) -- so come out and join us for a night of wine - cheese - and Auburn Tigers! And don't be timid - everyone can do this! So, exercise your inner artist and create something fun for yourself - or to give as a Christmas gift...

Just For Giggles is located at 12635 Crabapple Road, Suite 250, Milton, GA 30004. For reservations contact owner and Atlanta Auburn Club member Megan Jamison at: 770-664-0555, or go to the web at http://www.just-for-giggles.com.

Perfect for gift-giving or your own Auburn tree, this limited edition collectors' ornament is the same size as our "Toomer's Corner" ornament, which was released last year. Each is also individually handcrafted and hand painted by skilled artisans in Poland. And the design has been approved by Collegiate Licensing here in Atlanta.

Sales of the 2009 "War Eagle!" ornament support the Atlanta Auburn Club's 501(c)(3) Roy B. Sewell Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The price for the "War Eagle!" ornament is $35.00/each + postage.

We are now accepting general orders!!

Please note: because of the economy, we ordered 4 dozen fewer ornaments this year, so we do expect this one to sell out. If you want to make sure you can get one, please get your reservations in early!
