A portion of the proceeds from this t-shirt support AU's scholarship program and the Student Government Association BIG EVENT initiative. Petrie, the author of the Auburn Creed, is recognized as the father of Auburn football, having organized and coached the first team in 1892. This book includes exciting new details about the formation of that team and Auburn's first game, a 10-0 win over Georgia, played at Atlanta's Piedmont Park.

Orange Bandana Day at Piedmont Dog Park a Howling Good Success
Next Date Tentatively Set for Sunday, October 14th (Arkansas Away Game Weekend)

imageimage

It sure was dog-gone hot...but it was a lot of fun too! All together about 30 Auburn canines and a good crowd of Tigers (some even without dogs) came out for the Atlanta Auburn Club's first-ever "Dog Day Afternoon" at Piedmont Dog Park on Saturday, June 30. And it definitely was something to bark about!

Betsy Robertson, editor of the Auburn Magazine, and her dog Whiskey drove over from Auburn to join us for the day--bearing a basket of tasty treats for the four-legged crowd.

It's been decided that we're going to do this again --- but next time in some cooler Fall weather. The tentative date: Sunday, October 14th -- the day after Auburn's away game in Arkansas. So mark your calendars now!

AAC Heads to Turner Field:  Braves vs. San Francisco, August 16th

braves logo Hotlanta and a long, hot Summer go hand-in-hand. Just like the Atlanta Braves and a visit visit to Turner Field!

And what's a baseball season without some controversy?! The Giants' Barry Bonds is closing in on baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron's career home run record. Will Bonds be even closer to Aaron's magical mark of 755 when he gets to Atlanta? And under the cloud of alleged steriod use, will a 756th for Bonds be as sweet as Aaron's 755th was in 1976 for the Braves?

Make plans now to join the AAC on Thursday, August 16 to watch the Atlanta Braves in action against the San Francisco Giants. Game time is 7:35pm.

The AAC has Lexus Level group tickets for this event. They are specially priced at: $15/each (cash or check), or $15 + $1.50 postage and handling/each (PayPal).

These tickets are selling, so don't wait too late to get yours!  Reserve yours now by emailing  the Atlanta Auburn Club at: communications@atlantaauburnclub.org.

Making Metro Atlanta an AUBURN community

Okay, we know the cards are starting to appear around cars in metro Atlanta. Now we want to hear from some of the recipients! Have you gotten a "War Eagle!" card on your car? The AAC has enlisted a whole team of dedicated Tigers to start spreading some cheer around the metro area. Who are we reaching and where? Are you getting a "War Eagle!" at the mall parking lot, at work, or somewhere else? There are now about 18,500 alumni in the metro area and our new "War Eagle!" card is aimed at reaching more of the metro area Tigers.

Send us your stories and be sure to get some "War Eagle!" cards at the Tuberville event on July 18!
