stickyAttract Visitors; is your website sticky?
During February, 1 in every 35 visits to the Internet went to a video website.

You Tube, BBC iPlayer and Google Video taking up the top 3 spots.

The phenomenal growth in online video has been fuelled by increasing bandwidth and by the blurring of the line between computers and televisions.

What does this mean for your website?
Creating a sticky website is about putting content on your website that encourages visitors to say on it for longer - they stick to it!

The benefits of a sticky website are that visitors are engaging more with your company and as a bonus, the search engines think people staying on your website longer is a good thing too.

The most effective way to create sticky content is with short informative videos and presentations.

TIP: If you are serious about the growth of your business and haven't got video on your website you should give it serious consideration.

Making Websites Work
topppcseoMonitoring Website Analytics; Is your website working?
magnifying computerYou should consider your website as a sales channel; it should be managed like a sales strategy and should be helping to improve your bottom line.

Companies that set specific sales targets, monitor their web analytics and take improvement action are seeing revenue targets achieved and sales grow. Much is reported about the boom in online consumer retailing but a recent survey* concludes that a company website is the Number One influencing factor in the B2B buying decision too.

We all know the adage that you can't effectively manage what you don't measure, so the monitoring of web analytics is crucial to getting your website working. Google Analytics is a free service (it just requires a small piece of code adding to your website) that records pretty much everything that happens on your website. It can be a little intimidating, but a little time spent reading how to make your website work and then a focussed effort on action will help convert your website into a sales channel and see it contribute to your bottom line.

*Enquiro B2B Survey
suppliersSearch Engine Optimisation: We are all using the Internet to find Suppliers.
ABC keyboard keysA recent survey from BT reveals that six out of ten businesses are not 'selling' online, but virtually all of them use the Internet as part of their own buying process.

Yes, four out of five businesses have a website, but two thirds felt they would not find any new customers online. Yet again ignoring the fact that their own buying behaviour includes researching for new suppliers online!

Yes, in credit crunch times, it is perhaps not surprising to hear that over half of those surveyed felt Internet Marketing would be either too time consuming, too complicated or too expensive.

I would agree that, yes; it is time consuming and complicated - which is why businesses should get someone like me to do it for them!

But, it is not "too expensive", if done right it should deliver a positive return on investment. It shouldn't cost money; it should help make more money.

TIP: So, if you are among the 1.23 million businesses that have an impossible to find website and think Internet Marketing is not for you, I would love to talk to you.
