Green Milestones
Now offering Whole-House Air Sealing
Frank with IRIn April, we blew past another milestone - our 300th Home Energy Inspection.

To celebrate, we worked harder so we can now offer Whole-House Air Sealing services.

Air sealing is often one of the most needed, most cost-effective energy improvements for our homes. Unfortunately, even if you knew about this valuable service, there were basically no local contractors to provide it.

That has changed with TerraLogos Air Sealing - quality and reliability at very reasonable costs - often around $1,000 for a regular sized home. This investment is usually paid back in energy savings in 5 years or less.

Not only will you save energy dollars, but your home will be more comfortable and healthy, too. Call 443.451.7130 or email GHS@TerraLogos.com today to find out more about this new service.

Turn Your Laundry into Solar Collectors
Featured Energy Saving Tip
Green LaundryBask in the sun and discover the power of solar energy with your own two hands.

Spring is a great time to survey your property for a pleasant place to hang your laundry out to dry.

Using the dryer less instantly reduces utility costs and your family's carbon footprint. Added benefit - a fresh clean smell with no chemical drying aids.

- Electric drying = $200/yr & emits 1.5 tons of Carbon
- 50' drying line and eye bolts = $8
- Air dry 1/2 of your laundry for a year = save $92

If your Homeowners or Condo Association prohibits clothes lines, then gather like-minded neighbors and assert your right to let you solar collectors hang out to dry.

We all benefit every time someone avoids pushing the START button. (Photo from a Bloomingdales-Macy's ad in the NY Times)
Find the Energy Hogs
Easy Energy Saver
Kill A Watt meterHidden and continuous energy hogs could be driving up your electrical bills.

However, you can accurately measure the cost of leaving your computer on at night, running a second refrigerator or keeping aquariums.

Plug an electrical device or power strip into the Kill A Watt meter, and it tracks the time and total # of KWH's used. Then determine the cost at the current BGE rate of approximately 15˘ per KWH ($25 model.) The $50 model calculates the costs for you.

This meter and other energy saving products are available on-line at Energy Federation Inc.(EFI) This nonprofit company was founded in 1982 to promote the economical distribution of quality energy saving products to the public.

Use the TerraLogos 10% discount to save money on everything you buy from EFI.
