| 'Tis the Season
To Schedule a Home Energy Inspection©
|
With summer exiting stage right and fall waiting in the wings, now is the time to perform...
those home energy improvement projects that will save you money and make your home more comfortable this winter.
Start by identifying your home's hidden energy leaks with a TerraLogos Home Energy Inspection©. The resulting inspection report provides a master plan for reducing both your energy bills and your personal impact on global warming.
We have developed a pamphlet which explains the TerraLogos Inspection process. Find out what we have discovered from the more than 150 energy inspections we have performed on Maryland homes.

| Discounts for Contributing Locally
Last Month for Herring Run Annual Drive
|
In June, we partnered with the Herring Run Watershed Association to promote their Annual Giving Drive. For each donation of $100 or more to the HRWA, TerraLogos is offering a 10% discount off of a Home Energy Inspection. Read more about this program here.
The program was a big success with over 25 donors qualifying for a TerraLogos discount. So we have extended the deadline for donations an extra month. Please contribute $100 or more to the drive before the end of September and receive your coupon.
We also raffled off a FREE Home Energy Inspection© to support the Chesapeake Climate Action Network's annual membership drive. Congratulations to raffle winner Marilyn Carlisle of Baltimore! |
| Getting Technical
Air Sealing Training in Baltimore
|
According to the Energy Star website Air Sealing homes is one of the most cost effective measures to reduce energy use and improve home comfort. However, finding competent professional air sealers is not easy.
TerraLogos customers have the advantage of Delaware based Energy Services Group - that's ESG president, Ed Minch, air sealing in the photo. ESG's many years of experience have provided dramatic improvements for our Baltimore area customers. This is a trade which can benefit more Maryland homeowners.
To develop additional qualified local air sealing contractors, the Abel Foundation is funding a Zero Draft training session in Baltimore. Trainees from Civic Works will learn the Zero Draft system for whole house air sealing. And TerraLogos will be on hand to coordinate the Blower Door Testing.
The Zero Draft system seals those hidden home energy leaks we talk so much about. Soon this important energy saving trade will be more readably available in the Baltimore area.
Bad news for costly energy leaks - good news for Maryland homeowners. |
| TerraLogos Goes Carbon Neutral
With Wind Power from WindCurrent
|
At TerraLogos, we first focus on conserving - simply not using energy and other resources in the first place. Then we reuse and recycle.
Still, as we make the transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources of
energy, we continue to create carbon dioxide as a by product of
the energy we use every day.
As a company, we have chosen to offset all our production of green house gasses by purchasing Green Tags from WindCurrent, a local Baltimore company. Read more here.

| New Faces
We've Grown. Want to join us?
|
We started with three partners, and now we are five. Office administrator, Tina Fraley, joined us in April, and became an invaluable member of the company overnight.
Home Energy Inspector, Atticus Doman, started training with Frank in June. Many inspections later, we are thankful that he still wants to do more.
Learn more about Tina, Atticus and the rest of us here.
We need another inspector for the fall. Please email us with your resume if you are interested in working with us. Read more here. |
