SAAS Pricing model
Campground Manager Software logoSAAS (software as a service) has been gaining momentum as the preferred way to service the customer. The model involves running the system on a remote server through the Internet. All you need at park level is a computer with high speed Internet connection. Preferably non-satellite as the upload on satellite Internet is very slow. So if you have DSL or Cable or a T1 at your park you might want to consider this option. After relocating our servers to a top of the line co-location facility we are now in a position to aggressively chase this business.
The advantages are many:
  • never have to worry about back ups, we do that automatically for you
  • Live real time online reservations through Bookyoursite.com. As the database only resides on one server.
  • PCI Compliance on Bookyoursite.com and the system setup on our end
  • monthly payment instead of an upfront purchase price
  • security protection if your Internet goes down we have built in protection to switch to dial up phone connection
  • built in X-Charge Credit Card Processing Software interface for free
These are just a few of the benefits of using our SAAS (also know as ASP) model. For more information click here.
Pricing is based on the size of your park and how many users you want on the system.Pricing starts at $500 upfront fee and the monthly fees run anywhere from $.50 per site per month to $1 per site per month. A three year contract is required. So give us a call at 1-800-547-9147 or drop me a line if you have any interest.
Upcoming Webinar and Free Training Session!

We have been using the webinar format for the last year and they have worked out well for us. They are environmentally friendly and help us to communicate to a wider audience.
You must pre-register for these webinars so we know how many phone lines to order.

Upcoming Live Webinar Sessions-They're Free!

Training - POS Setup, Operation June 13th - 1pm EDT- This is a training webinar for users who want to learn more about the proper use of the POS system. How to run it, set it up and purchase products through the POS. If you would like to attend then click here to register.

Campground Manager Software/ Bookyoursite.com - June 27th- 1pm EDT. This is a general overall snapshot of how the system operates and what we bring to the table as far as efficiencies are concerned. Geared toward new people to the system and or people interested in learning about the system. If you would like to attend then click here to register.

So please join us if you have time. Thanks in advance. If these dates don't work for you and your staff then drop us a line and we can arrange an alternate time.

Version 7.40.1 (BETA) released on March 24, 2008
This is the beta version that requires registration as a beta user.
Features and Enhancements
Added a "remove from group" button to the group booking screen. This function removes a customer from
being part of a designated group.
Added a sort level to the unoccupied site report to group sites on the report by Site Type and Site Number.
Added a report to display the individual sites that belong to each site type and site class. They can be
accessed from the Site Type and Site Class Lists.
Added a field to the Customer Details Screen that tracks if the customer wishes to be part of a marketing
program (ELS)
Added a report to the POS Reports section (Sales Detail Report-each item by Date). This report prints all
POS items that have been sold and displays the tax charges on each item for any date range. The report will
also break down the taxable and non taxable sales for each of the 5 tax codes.
On the Reports window, added "Print Car Pass by Arrival Date" report function which allows you to pre-print
all car passes for a certain arrival date range.
Invoices will now print the customer's name just below the signature line. If the card was swiped through
the credit card reader then that name will show even though the customer name may be different if the
card is not swiped then the cardholder name will be present.
The customer name will be the default name if a credit card was not provided.
Added Tag 1 and Tag 2 fields to the Storage List Report. Either field can be used to keep details about the
trailer in storage. The labels Tag1 and Tag2 can be defined by the park.

Fixes
Macintosh users experienced an error when trying to archive data. "Data File Not Found" then the process
would quit.
Move in, Move out report was not responding to the date parameters set as the report date range.
If a payment schedule has payment description lines without a date assigned to that payment line,
Campground Manager will lock up when refunding that transaction. This causes the program leaves the
refund half completed resulting in a corrupt record.
Print and Delete buttons were not working on the Customer Info Screen.
Mailing labels from mailing list did not adjust margin, header or footer distances for certain printers.

Scott's Help Desk Success Story!
esupport logo I had another call about a customer having problems networking two Windows Vista machines. So I thought I would share the experience in the hopes of helping other newly adopters of Microsoft's latest and greatest. Even though we usually rely on the customers' network to be in place before trying to get Campground Manager working, I try not to miss an opportunity to help if possible.
It turned out to be Norton Internet Security disabling the functionality of browsing the network. Depending on the version of Norton that you have, the directions may be somewhat different so giving a step by step explanation is not feasible. But, I thought it would warrant a warning to thoughts of you pulling your hair out. If you have a person that can help in this area, you can at least inform them of this possibility. If not, call our office and ask for me. I will try and apply what I have learned so far.site for readers to view the full text.

Slacker Management Skills
I have been reading some stuff lately by David Zinger. He writes a blog on the Slacker Manager Website.
He wrote a blog about what should be in you management kit bag. In other words what tools do you need to be a successful manager. Some of them are obvious however some are not so obvious but still ring very true. I found them quite interesting.

  1. A sense of humor as mirth makes for good management.
  2. A sense of humanity to realize we manage people and that management is a very human endeavor.
  3. A strong dose of integrity, honesty, and authenticity.
  4. A belief in ourselves, others, and the organization.
  5. A passion for results and accomplishment.
  6. A love of strong interpersonal communication.
  7. A good set of ears and a fine connection with others.
  8. A solid understanding of our organization and the organization's mission and goals.
  9. A real sense of service, being in this for others, and the desire for a positive legacy.
  10. A comfort and even a fondness for change.
  11. A calm and unflappable approach to others.
  12. A toothbrush to demonstrate that we are concrete, practical, and not afraid to smile.
Kind of makes you think. Again, check out his stuff at Slackermanager.com.

That is about it for this month. Please feel free to send us your comments or post your thoughts in our user forum or on our blog.
Until next month hope the outdoor hospitality business treats you well.

Sincerely,
Peter Kearns
