Cape & Islands Green Workshops | |
Interested in finding how to "green" your business? Come a Cape & Islands Green informational workshops. Regularly scheduled workshops will be held at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Conference room from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12 and November 9. Workshop fee is $25, which is applied to the application fee when you register to earn the designation. Participating businesses that complete the Level 1 program will be marketed through Cape Healing Arts Magazine (CHA), in-store signage and decals, press releases and inclusion in the 2012 Cape Cod Travel Guide with 200,000 magazines on newsstands, at statewide visitor centers, AAA offices and Greater Boston and Cape Cod hotels. National Marine Life Center Mermaid Ball
Popular Fund-Raising Gala on August 27 | |
The National Marine Life Center in Buzzards Bay is proud to announce the return of their popular Mermaid Ball for its fourth incarnation on Saturday, August 27 at Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee. This joyful costume ball is their signature fundraising event that benefits the center's rehabilitation, science, and education programs and raises critical funds to help complete the center's new marine animal hospital and rehabilitation facility.
The Mermaid Ball will be a fun-filled evening including live and silent auctions, dinner, and live music by the GinaMark band, with mermaids, pirates, sea creatures, and some special surprises! Patrons are encouraged to attend in costume or creative black tie. Tickets are $125 each and include hors d'oeuvres, gourmet dinner, live entertainment, and a limited edition Pairpoint suncatcher created exclusively for the Mermaid Ball. Town Fair and Fireworks - next week! |  |
This year the Fair is July 6th through the 9th. The hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 6:00 to 11:00 and Saturday 12:00 to 10:00. Wrist band days for the rides are Wednesday, Thursday and all of Saturday. The cost for the wrist bands are $20.00. Friday night fireworks with Saturday for a rain date. |

The Community Bank welcomes new staff
The Community Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Claudette Azar-Kenyon as VP/Compliance and BSA Officer. Ms. Azar-Kenyon brings more than fourteen years of Compliance and BSA experience, including ten years with Sovereign Bank and four years with BankBoston. She is a graduate of UMass Dartmouth with a BA and a JD from the School of Law. She has comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory environment and is considered to be a subject matter expert on many government regulatory topics.
The Community Bank is also pleased to announce that Thomas Landers has joined its commercial lending team as VP/Commercial Loan Officer. Mr. Landers formerly was Vice President in Commercial Lending at South Coastal Bank. Mr. Landers brings over 10 years of experience in commercial lending. Mr. Landers is an active member in the South Shore Chamber as well as the Metro South Chamber. He is a coach for the Silver Lake Youth Football team and is the treasurer for Silver Lake Youth Football & Cheerleading, Inc |
