Industrial Security & You: The Challenge Is Yours -- Ready to Accept?
What a start to the new year.  Lots of changes in the air, more opportunities to grow and to build up your security program.  Are you ready?

I've spent January working as a part-time FSO for four different companies, providing my insight and services to several more clients of AJ's Consulting, and in training to become an instructor for JPW Security Solutions.  My duties include keeping up with the changes and making most of the Brown Bags and security organization meetings (both ASIS & NCMS).  There often does not seem enough hours in the day to keep up with what is relevant to each security program, but therein lies the challenge.

It is a challenge to each and everyone of us who wish to have an effective, if not exceptional, security program to stay abreast of the news, latest updates and resources, and continue to sharpen our skills.  What better way to ensure you are up-to-speed or at least know which specialist to call than to network with local security professionals at local luncheon meetings, mini-seminars, training sessions and of course newsletters.

The training and networking opportunities are out there -- find and pursue the ones which best fit your needs and budgets.  Remember to check out the resources available to NCMS members at www.classmgmt.com and to ASIS members at www.asisonline.org.  And when you are looking for Subject Matter Experts in security, there is no better place to start than with your local NCMS or ASIS chapters.

The class was excellent.  The small group size was very conducive to learning and the ability to practice with our own data made the session practical.
