Tomorrow: Jefferson Jackson Dinner Weds. April 27 |
|

The Jefferson Jackson Dinner is the major annual fundraising event of the Dallas County Democratic Party. The Fifth Annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. The dinner is scheduled for 7:30 PM in Rosine Hall. A VIP reception for sponsors will be held at 6:30 PM in the Alex Camp House on the grounds.
Washington journalist Eleanor Clift, a Newsweek contributing editor and regular panelist on the McLaughlin Group, will give the keynote address. She plans to discuss U.S. policy in the Middle East in the wake of dramatic uprisings in Egypt, Libya and throughout the region.

Dallas Peace Conference - Women of Natural Disasters |

Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson will be holding a Dallas Peace Conference on Women of Natural Disasters on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Music Hall in Fair Park, 909 First Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75210.
In light of the recent tragedies in Haiti, Pakistan, Japan, and elsewhere, she has invited distinguished panelists to discuss women and world peace during times of disaster: Director of Dallas Office of Homeland Security, Lisa Chambers; Independent International Consultant, Stephenie Foster:Senior Policy Advisor, Oxfam America, Angela Bruce-Raeburn: Peace Education Coordinator, Peacemakers Incorporated, Laura Seipp.

The Dallas County Democratic Party will hold the second quarter County Executive Committee (CEC) Meeting on Monday, May 23, 2011, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, at the CWA Hall, 1408 N. Washington at Bryan, #240, Dallas. The agenda will include the report of the Audit Committee and the CEC will fill precinct chair vacancies.
