The Treasurer's Report was given by David Bradley. In her County Chair's Report, Darlene Ewing announced the party would be launching a Leadership Council drive for elected officials to contribute to the party. This year's Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner was tentatively scheduled for April 7 at the Arboretum, contingent on getting a speaker then. The full text can be found as a PDF document at this page. The EC then passed a resolution introduced by Janice Schwartz, which reads "In light of the events surrounding the recent meeting of the Dallas County Elections Commission on which Darlene Ewing, as our Party Chair, serves as a voting member, the Executive Committee of the Dallas County Democratic Party commends our Chair for faithfully respresenting the highest principles of ethics, good judgment, and fairness in her role on the Commission. Her votes on the Commission represent a commitment to good leadership, fair elections, and open and effective County government. We thank Darlene for representing our Party so well." After announcements of events later that week, Precinct Chair Mark Baker won a raffle for tickets to hear John Oliver at the House of Blues. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM. |
