This Saturday: Help the Homeless Walkathon & 5K

Proceeds from this year's 2-mile WalkAThon & 5K will be used to support the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, operators of The Bridge: Dallas' Way Back Home. People experiencing homelessness access opportunities at The Bridge, the area's only centralized multi-service campus for care and housing.

The $35 registration fee [only $30 in advance] includes a Help the Homeless WalkAThon & 5K t-shirt, featuring colorful artwork designed by a child from Rainbow Days, a non-profit that hosts summer camps for homeless children. Each registrant will also receive a sponsor goody bag. The $15 Pet Registration [as long as the dog is leashed and current on vaccinations] includes a BONE-a fide 'Hounds Hoofin' for the Homeless' pet bandanna.

Registration begins at 8 AM this Saturday, November 13, at City Hall Plaza in downtown Dallas. There is free parking for participants under Dallas City Hall. Read more about the event here, and a FAQ page here, see the schedule here, and register online here.

"They will extend us a group discount of $4 off of the pre race day $30 registration fee. We can wear a Dem button or bracelet, or a "Doing More for Dallas County" tee shirt to illustrate the heart our party proudly represents. The code for the discount they have created for those entering under the group rate is DD."
