Women's Get-Out-The-Vote Postcard Campaign
 

An evening of fellowship and postcard writing to women in other states and in the Dallas/Fort Worth area urging them to vote on November 2 Election Day.

Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 7 PM.
Alliance/AFT Office: 334 Centre St, Dallas TX
Directions: From I-35 take the Beckley/12th Street exit. Go west on 12th Street (right-turn if coming from downtown, left turn if coming from I-20). Turn right on Bishop. Office is at the corner of Bishop/Centre St. Park in the AFT parking lot or in the parking lot across the street with the AFT sign.

The Postcard campaign is a coordinated effort by the AFL-CIO Civil, Human and Women's Rights Department and Working America, AFL-CIO's community partner, to increase voter turnout among union women.

Featuring Organizing for America Volunteers, Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, City Councilman Tennell Atkins, City Councilwoman Vonciel Jones Hill and many Dallas County Democratic campaigns.

These are well-organized precinct walks supporting local Democratic candidates. You will work with a partner and receive full training, supplies, water and light refreshements. Walks are short and easy to complete.

We'll be giving away some tickets to the Grambling vs Prairie View A&M game that is scheduled for that evening, Saturday, Sept. 25, at 6pm at the Cotton Bowl.
