This Saturday: Democratic 9/11 Events

This Saturday, September 11, Democrats across Dallas County will be participating in a host of events: honoring first responders and the community, celebrating and good old fashioned grass roots campaigning. There should be one or more programs to please everyone.
  • At 9 AM and again at 4 PM, we'll be doing Megawalks for the Democratic ticket from two locations (winding up with a pizza party for participants at 6:45 PM). See all the details in the article below.
  • Also at 9 AM in Grand Prairie and then again at 11 AM in Dallas, we can have a "Cup of joe" with Dallas County Treasurer Joe Wells. Campaign yard signs and literature will be available. Specifics are under Upcoming Meetings below.
  • From 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson will be hosting her 18th Annual Community Appreciation Day in Fair Park's Texas Discovery Gardens. Be sure to bring a canned good to be entered into the raffle.
  • Then from 3 to 5 PM, the Dallas County Young Democrats and Dallas Stonewall Young Democrats invite us to the Serving Those Who Serve Us Cookout at Kidd Spring Park, 711 W. Canty, Dallas. Show your appreciation for our first responders as we celebrate their service through food, fun and festivities for all ages. Free admission to all firefighters, police officers, military personnel, reservists and the families of our first responders. For all other persons, a minimum donation of $5 is requested to participate in the evening's festivities. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Dallas Fire & Rescue. For more information about the event, please contact Joseph Amyson by email to communityservice AT dallasyoungdemocrats.org.
  • Finally, at 7 PM, there will be a Southwest Dallas County Fish Fry Mixer, at 3016 Bridal Wreath Lane, Dallas. Special Guest will be Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins.
Come on out and do some good, honor the deserving, learn something, or just have fun with other Democrats.
