Utilizing Team Dynamics for Individual Performance
by Coach Matt Russ
On the surface, group training can be detrimental. The first rule of training is specificity; you don't improve your individual performance by training randomly. An athlete's training must not only be highly specific to their sport, but also highly specific to their individual needs. But group training can also be a powerful tool if used skillfully and prescriptively. Read on... |
Roadie or Tri-Geek
By Curtis Henry of Cannon Cyclery
Choosing between a Road and a Tri bike is one of the more common questions I get from those that are new to the sport or considering the jump into the Tri-lifestyle. Ideally, you would really want one of each, but that may not be in the budget. NEW: Yoga for Triathletes
Mondays at 6:30pm
Did you know that the incidence of injury with Ironman training is as high as 90%! Athletes tend to place way too much emphasis on applying training stress and volume, when in fact an equal amount of emphasis should be placed upon active recovery, flexibility and joint range of motion, restoring body balance and strength.
Join us for a Yoga class designed especially to meet the needs of endurance athletes, although all are welcome. We will work on expanding our bodies and minds to prevent injury, practice our focus, and prepare for the season ahead. The perfect "off season" tool to create a stronger platform to build your next season upon.
