Next Clinic
Strength Training For Endurance Athletes 10/17 from 2-4:30pm

Strength training and sport specific training can be like oil and water.  Without the proper planning and execution strength training may actually degrade athletic performance.  This clinic will discuss the various types of strength training, what is most applicable to endurance sports, and how to phase it correctly.  This clinic will be held at The Sport Factory and includes hands on instruction.  Clinic is FREE to Club Team members and coached athletes.  More info....

  • Laura Gold continues her rockin' rookie duathlon year with ANOTHER Overall Win at Richard B. Russell, and a 3rd OA at Mistletoe Duathlon. Great job, Laura!
  • Laura Gold and hubby Shannon Wrege make a great team, "The Wregulators," as they took 2nd in the relay division at Tugaloo and another 2nd at Augusta 70.3. 
  • Kris Kester takes 2nd OA at Acworth Women's Sprint and takes 2nd in her AG at Age Group Nationals!
  • Tracy Palmer wins her AG at Acworth Women's Sprint. Way to rock it, Tracy!
  • Katie June for placing 1st in her age group and 5th overall at the Acworth Sprint Triathlon, 3rd overall at Peachtree City Sprint Triathlon, and WINNER of the Tugaloo Triathlon!
  • Hannah Meadows for placing 1st in her age group and 5th overall at the Music City Triathlon and first in her age group and 6th overall at the Tugaloo Triathlon. Great racing, Hannah!
  • Kara Finley for placing 2nd in her age group at the Atlanta Track Club 10 miler.
  • Clay Marshall won his age group and finished 4th overall at Ironkids Alpharetta, GA. Clay blasted a 6:11 run pace, was in 3rd off bike and won overall by :50. Great job, Clayman!
  • Alex Marshall finished 3rd overall at Youth Elite National Championships, in San Diego, CA. Alex had a battle to the line for 2nd and put out a fantastic race! He's been on a roll this year, with a PR and Top 10 record board at Milton HS, Cherokee Warpath XC 5K, 17:15, and finishing 1st Overall at Ironkids Alpharetta.
  • Meghan King won the Athens Triathlon, AND won her AG at Augusta 70.3 in a 4:42; this was her first attempt at a 70.3 distance! Congrats to Meghan as she heads to Clearwater for the World Champs! This triathlon rookie is on fire.
  • Kat Tindol won OA Masters, and qualified for AG World Championships at USAT Age Group Nationals.
  • Gustavo Gonzalez placed 3rd in his AG at USAT Sprint National Championships. 
  • Betsy Brucken won the Deer Creek Aquabike. Nice job, Betsy!
  • Katie June for her 1st place performance at the USAT National Sprint Race! Another National Championship title for this junior elite!
  • Hugh Wellington placed 1st AG at Richard B Russell, and 2nd AG at Tugaloo; Great racing after IM CDA!
  • Jo Adamson placed took 2ND AG at USAT Age Group Nationals. Great job, Jo! 
  • Jeff Lukich is on a roll- He placed 3rd in his Age Group at both Indian Springs and Mistletoe, and set a PR of 4:51 at the Augusta 70.3! Keep up the good work Jeff!
  • Holmes Marchman Placed 2nd overall in the Golden Olympic road race and 5th overall in the Golden Olympic 5K Time Trial. He also was the bike leg of the winning relay team at the Tri to Remember. Great season Holmes!
  • Louie Kirchner placed second overall at Tugaloo, way to go Louie!
  • Congrats to Matt Schaefer at Age Group Nationals Sprint for 4th OA and winning his age group by a reported 8 minutes!
  • Scott Whitney qualified for the 70.3 World Championships at Augusta 70.3 this past weekend. In doing so, he lowered his PR in the half ironman distance to 4:30. Congrats!

Honorable Mentions- For the athletes that gave it their all.

  • Todd Olson breaks the 11hr barrier in his first Ironman (Wisconsin), finishing in 10:55 and the top 8% of his age group. Incredible performance all around, Todd!
  • Former semi-pro soccer player and most entertaining team member, Moreno Aguiari, overcomes a mid-season foot injury and minimal run training to cross the line in his first 70.3 in Augusta, posting competitive swim and bike splits and finishing just over 5 hours!  
  • Tracy Palmer was 1st in her AG out of the water at AG Nationals, and earned a Team USA Slot for her top-15 finish! What a rookie triathlon season Tracy has had!
  • Barbara Blackford for an amazing performance at the Acworth Women's Sprint Triathlon.
  • Brian Duffy for a bounce back performance at the Mountain Lakes Sprint Triathlon.
  • Jennifer Lesser set a new PR at USAT Age Group Nationals and qualified for Team USA.
  • Byron Milton set a new PR at USAT Age Group Nationals and qualified for Team USA.
  • Seeley Guitierrez qualified for Team USA at USAT Age Group Nationals.
  • Vallee Ohayon had a great comeback race at Augusta 70.3, finishing in just over 5 hours and outswam the alligators!
  • Lisa Hardin set a new PR at Augusta 70.3
  • David Sawyer set a new PR at Augusta 70.3.
  • Brian Duffy for an amazing performance at the Sprint National Triathlon. Brian placed 4th in his age group! Fantastic, Brian!
  • Crystal Perkins had a great race at USAT Nationals. She had a PR in this race and she has really shown major improvement this season... while juggling medical school! We're proud of you, Crystal!
  • Justin Hamilton had a breakthrough race at Tri the Mountains in July with a PR.
  • Lisa Marshall finished 5th AG at USAT Age Group Nationals and qualified for Team USA, holding it together during a very hot run. Way to keep up the winning Marshall family tradition, Lisa!
  • Kudos to Sam Morgan for an 8th Place overall finish at the Age Group National Championship.
  • Honorable Mention to Seth Gibree for finishing the Augusta 70.3 with a new PR of 4:57. Great job Seth!
  • Honorable Mention to Fred Soller for finishing the Augusta 70.3 in 5:02. Not bad for a first HIM!
  • Honorable Mention to Erik Belinfante for crossing the line at the Augusta 70.3. Great job Doc!
  • Honorable Mention to Jennifer Vogel who crushed her previous Half Iron PR by an hour and a half at the Augusta 70.3.
  • Honorable Mention to Kevin Spengler for finishing his first Ironman race in Lousiville. Great job finishing a tough day.
  • Honorable Mention to Claire Crawford for finishing her first Ironman race in Louisville.
  • Jennifer Jestel set a PR of 5:25 at the Augusta 70.3!
  • Congrats to Molly Adams for putting together a great race at Timberman, and being the most focused and consistent athlete regarding preparation. Mad log updates.
  • Congrats to Coleman Rudolph for the 6th fastest bike split out of 525 competitors at the Tri2Remember Laurel Park.
  • Kevin Thill finished his first Ironman distance race at Ceader Point in 11:57! Way to go Kevin!
  • Congrats to Todd Cawley for a great swim and bike at Timberman. Gotta find a more secure vessel for electrolyte pills next year.
  • And finally . . . Congrats to HEAD COACH Matt Russ for making it to our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY at the new facility, giving us a home base from which to train, and growing the program to an elite training center over the years! Yep, you deserve a kudos, too!
