The Wrench Does Not Fix the Machine
By Matt Russ

There are interesting new tools designed to aid the bike fitting process. Some incorporate dynamic motion sensing and capture technology. As a gadget guy, I am compelled by new technology and I often get asked what the "best" fit system or process is. Unfortunately this question circumvents the most key component of a good bicycle fit- how skilled or experienced the person performing the fit may be.

| Get Under The Wind |
|
Up to 80% of the resistance you encounter on the bike comes from aerodynamic drag. Reducing this wind resistance is a key consideration in increasing speed. The more upright your riding position, the more aerodynamic drag you create. By lowering your torso towards the top tube, you essentially "get under the wind" by reducing your aerodynamic profile. | NEW! GRIND BRICKS |
The first rule of training is specificity, and group training does not always address this well. For this reason we have more options in The Grind than ever before. We have multiple workouts occurring in each class- short course for power and lactate threshold training and long course for aerobic strength endurance. We also have Grind Bricks in which the athlete can swim to bike or run off the bike just like race day-- right at our facility. Practice timed transitions on our transition rack, or run a hilly or flat course similar to your next event. Whether you are a time trialist, Ironman triathlete, or mountain biker, you can select the work out that is most applicable to your upcoming race, or we can help tailor the work out to it.
