Create Competitive Advantage with Organizational Relationships and Preferred Provider Arrangements
By Stephen Tweed
Dan in Phoenix is doing it successfully. Brianna in Michigan is having terrific success with it. Dave in Denver is growing his business with it.
What is "IT"? It is a strategy to create competitive advantage by developing and nurturing ongoing strategic alliances with other health care organizations.
For the last several issues of Private Duty Today, we've been talking about strategies to gain and sustain competitive advantage in your local marketplace. We've talked about creating Specialized Program Packaging and Promotion. We've talked about Exceptional Customer Experiences. Later this month, my son Jason will be leading a webinar of this topic called "Exceptional Home Care from the Consumer Perspective." You won't want to miss that program.
Today, I want to explore the strategy of developing relationships with organizations that can make referrals to your home care business. For this to work, you need to offer something of value to them. What is it that you can bring to the party?

Join Stephen Tweed at NPDA in Orlando for "Serving More Clients"
Associations are the grass roots of home care, and our experience is that the leaders in our industry are also the leaders in our associations. Whether it is your state home care association, a local chapter of NPDA, or the national NPDA organization, we encourage you to be actively involved. One way to get actively involved is to attend the national NPDA leadership conference in Orlando on September 12, 13, and 14, 2012. We'll be there.
Stephen Tweed, CEO of Leading Home Care, will be speaking on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Stephen will be presenting "Serving More Clients: Top Techniques in Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations for Private Duty Home Care." Stephen has presented this program a number of times since completing the research on which it is based.

Marketing to Die For ... Without Killing Your Budget
It takes innovation, creativity, passion, and persistence. In this down-home, practical marketing manual, Angie Landmesser and Trisha Menoni give you the details of their innovation and creativity. They show you step by step how to apply their ideas to get more referrals that turn into admissions. They'll stimulate your thinking to come up with your own innovative ideas that will work for you in your marketplace.

Exceptional Home Care from the Consumer Perspective
Put yourself in the shoes of your clients and their families. What are the elements of home care that are important to them? What makes home care customers satisfied, dissatisfied, or enthusiastic? What are the factors they consider when selecting a home care company. Imagine an interactive presentation with a pioneer in Home Care who is also a consumer of home care services who will give you the "customer's eye view" of an exceptional home care company. Jason Tweed is the former editor of Private Duty Today, the leading electronic newsletter for owners and CEOs of private duty home care companies. He's also physically disabled, lives in a wheelchair, and uses the services of home care on a daily basis.
