TO: AUSCP Members
FROM: Bernie Survil for AUSCP Leadership
As we concluded a rousing inaugural Assembly at St Leo's in Florida, our chairman, Dave Cooper announced a $20,000 matching grant offer, if the Association can raise an equal or greater amount by August 29, 2012. This $20,000 represents more than 1/3 of our total income since our founding in August, 2011.
Before the Assembly concluded, our Treasurer, Frank Eckart had already collected $525 from Assembly attendees leaving the need to raise $19,475.
Based on the 54% response rate to our first two email blasts, I'd expect about half of you to respond to this appeal. If so, your average donation of $75 would put us over the top.
If you are able to respond before the August 29 deadline, let me know by a "Count On Me" in the subject line of an email to info4@uscatholicpriests.us. With this tip- off, I will be saved the labor-intensive-time-delayed work of snail-mailing the appeal to you. It will still go out to the rest and those who don't use email.
Make your check payable to "AUSCP," with a note in the memo line reading: "Matching Donation" and mail to:

If you need this to be tax deductible, our treasurer Frank Eckart (frankecka@aol.com) will explain the simple procedure you have to follow.
P.S. Catholic News Service (CNS) covered our assembly. Ask the editor of your diocesan newspaper to be sure to publish what they send out to their affiliates. It will help membership development. There are still many U.S. priests who have never heard of our existence. We already got good coverage in the Tampa Tribune where AUSCP members Pete Ruggere and Joe Gosselin were quoted.
