It's Spring Time in Oak Glen! |

Dear Friends of Oak Glen,
Spring is blossoming in Oak Glen. The arrival of spring was celebrated at the 24th Annual Apple Blossom Festival Saturday and Sunday April 21 and 22. Many thanks to our faithful friends who were on hand to celebrate with us. The weather was glorious! And the Apple Blossoms arrived right on cue! In addition to the warm weather and abundant sunshine, visitors enjoyed hayrides through the blossoming orchards, some good ol' country bluegrass musicians jamming, local legend storytelling, tours of the old Wilshire homestead, an "Everything Apple" baking contest, and a treasure hunt all of which were topped off with an "In Apple Blossom Time" jazz and swing dance. If you missed it, mark your calendar for April next year. We'll look forward to having you celebrate with us. |

Volunteer Days at Wildlands Conservancy.
Volunteer Day and Volunteer Recognition Picnic - This event is intended to cap off our spring volunteer campaign and an overall great year of volunteer efforts. Everyone that has volunteered for TWC is encouraged to come. We will start off with something light and easy in the morning, then hike down to Hidden Hollow to cook some hot dogs and hamburgers (or veggie burgers) over the campfire, enjoy some cookies and cider, and just relax.
Ages 12 and up.
* 9am-11am - fun volunteer project
* 11am-1pm - picnic

Behold the Beauty - Art in Nature at Wildlands Conservancy
Using the beauty of nature to inspire the artist in everyone. Observation hike followed by instructions on creating a work of art. Different mediums and techniques used each month. Instruction is tailored to the ability and experience of participants. Behold the Beauty is offered the third Saturday of each month at 1:30 pm. All ages.

Night Walks at Wildland's Conservancy.
Explore Nature at Night! Join a TWC naturalist on a themed walk and talk on the Preserve trails. A different theme is presented monthly. Night Walks are held the third Saturday of the month April through December. Walks take place at from 7 pm - 9pm April through October and 5 pm - 7 pm November and December. Ages 8 and up.

Contra Dance at Los Rios Rancho.
It's a mixture of square dancing and the Virgina Reel. People dance in long lines, couples facing couples across the set. Beginners should come in at 6:30 for basic instruction. Lessons for beginners at 6:30 pm, Contra Dance at 7pm
